I did so much research and meticulous measuring to find this 'almost' perfect fit. Don't worry about 1-2 inch wiggle room, because it is an air mattress (that will form), not a block. I wanted the mattress to straddle the tire wells and allow the tailgate to close. It does with only an exception of a slight lift on the edge of the tire wells by possibly 1-2 inches. I couldn't find any other mattress close enough in size without spending an additional $100+. When you inflate the mattress you will have to lower the tailgate, but once I removed the pump it fit perfectly inside the bed of the truck with the tailgate closed. The pump's cable (which is only fitted with a cigarette plug in) is 6ft long, so I had to purchase a cigarette lighter extension cord to reach to the truck console's plug in. No-one has laid on it for am extended period of time yet, but I will be sure to update my review if there are issues. Very happy with this truck bed mattress.
